As part of our support for health sciences endeavors at Illinois, IHSI has compiled information from departments and units across campus to create the  41-page Health Sciences Research Guide. This guide outlines steps for research set up and administration, including sections on human subject payments, IRB approval, animal research, lab safety, professional development, hiring practices, and a number of essential others. This guide will be updated periodically to include the most up-t0-date information. If there is something that is not included in the guide that you feel would be helpful or if you would like to provide us with feedback on the guide, please email healthinstitute@illinois.edu.

New! NIH has launched a series of initiatives and changes related to clinical trials that affect grant funding, proposal development, and research administration for investigators conducting human subjects research. IHSI and the Beckman Institute co-sponsored a workshop in January 2018 to assist researchers in navigating these changes and new requirements. View the PowerPoint slides and other materials, or email Patty Jones for more information.
