Promoting Local and Global Health Equity

Illinois researchers across campus are working to address critical health disparities in the United States and abroad. The health equity research community at Illinois examines disparities in health through interdisciplinary lenses including medicine, child development, law, food access, education, and health communication. Factoring these disparities into the design of new technologies, devices, and interventions can help promote equal healthcare access, medical treatment, and health outcomes for all. This growing research community is ensuring that issues of equity are woven into the planning of health research, interventions, and medical innovations on campus.

IHSI research development manager Brandi Barnes is helping the health equity community find collaborators, partnerships, and resources. If you would like more information about this program area, contact Brandi today.
