2027 SURF preselection applications due for Illinois undergrads

Up to six of Mayo Clinic’s prestigious fellowships are reserved for Illinois sophomores and juniors who are seriously considering a biomedical research career as a PhD or MD-PhD. This special preselection process allows University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign students to submit their SURF application to a selection committee of Illinois faculty and staff.

Attendees will gain guidance for structuring partnerships, preparing community collaborators, and obtaining meaningful, ethical consent.

2027 Community-Academic Scholars Student Info Session

Illinois undergraduates from all majors are invited to learn about the 2027 Community-Academic Scholars program and I-SUMMER. Scholars receive a $4,500 stipend while working with an academic mentor and community partner on a 10-week research project. No prior research experience is required.
