We provide critical infrastructure for health-related research.
Health researchers can be found in nearly every college across the Illinois campus. IHSI provides the expertise, tools, and support necessary for engaging in clinical and translational research, from proposal development to HIPAA-secure data collection.
Biostatistics, Epidemiology, & Research Design (BERD)
The BERD team offers expert biostatistical consulting and analysis services in support of health-related research. Biostatisticians work with internal (Illinois) and external (non-Illinois) researchers on basic science, social and behavioral research, and translational research studies and clinical trials.
The Clinical Partnerships team strengthens collaborative efforts between the university and multiple clinical partners. These collaborations, including those with Mayo Clinic & Illinois Alliance and Carle, create opportunities for education, research, and translation.
The Community-Academic Partnerships team supports collaborations that respond to community needs through research, teaching, and service. Researchers may collaborate with the team to identify partners, submit proposals, and disseminate research findings.
The Health Equity team offers educational opportunities and resources that promote equitable research perspectives and practices. The team supports faculty and students in promoting health equity through research, programs, partnerships, and policy.
The Research Development Team partners with health researchers to strategically plan and develop proposals. Research development professionals with diverse scientific backgrounds help to lower grant-seeking barriers through support services and training.
