Project Description
This dissemination-focused project will involve collaboration with the HEALERS (Healthcare Environments: A Longitudinal Examination of Resilience and Stress) Study, funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District. The HEALERS study examines how social and environmental conditions in healthcare workplaces shape mental health, substance use, and suicidality among healthcare workers, with particular attention to lower-wage occupations that often face high levels of stress while having fewer resources and supports. This project will focus on analyzing baseline HEALERS data to identify findings that are meaningful, relevant, and actionable for public health practice. In partnership with CUPHD, the project will help translate research findings into information that can inform prevention, workplace health efforts, and future community-engaged dissemination activities aimed at improving healthcare worker well-being.

Role of the Scholar
The Community-Academic Scholar will work with the research team and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District to analyze and interpret baseline data from the HEALERS study and help identify key findings for dissemination to community and public health audiences. The scholar will contribute to the development of dissemination materials and support efforts to ensure that findings are communicated in ways that are accessible, relevant, and useful for practice and prevention. Through this work, the scholar will gain experience in quantitative data analysis, interpretation of research findings, dissemination of public health evidence, and community-engaged research focused on improving workplace health.
